New bus stop on Fraser Street
MEDIA RELEASE
New bus stop on Fraser
Street
For immediate release: 22 April 2009
From
Monday, 27 April 2009 public buses will no longer travel
into Fraser Cove shopping centre.
Instead, buses
operating routes 7A/7C and 8 will use bus stops both sides
of Fraser Street, in front of the new Countdown
supermarket.
Environment Bay of Plenty Transport
Planner Barry Reid said the change to the bus stop is
expected to improve travel times between Tauranga city
centre, Greerton and Ohauiti, without compromising bus
passenger access to Fraser Cove.
“With the recent
developments and expansion at Fraser Cove the improvements
to bus stops and pedestrian crossings on Fraser St will
provide ease of access for bus passengers and buses,” Mr
Reid
said.
