Churton Park Association Submission to Council
The Churton Park Community Association requested Council support for use of planned Community Rooms in the Churton Park Neighbourhood Centre; and a dedicated Youth facility for the suburb.
“Residents of Churton Park have been very patient. Some have been paying rates to the City Council for more than 30 years with little to show for it in terms of community facilities. Now the private developer is going to build a neighbourhood shopping area we have the prospect of incorporating some local Community Rooms. We would also like to see a modest-sized Youth facility. We expect the Council to play its part in bringing these to fruition” said Association President, Roger Ellis.
The Association also reinforced its earlier requests for the completion of Westchester Drive as an access way out of the fast growing suburb. These requests were contained in the Association’s submission to the Wellington City Council’s Draft Long Term Community Plan which was lodged this week.
