Statement From David Warren
Statement From David Warren
David Warren, the Avondale College teacher severely injured in an incident in his classroom on 3 March, has recently been discharged from hospital and has regained almost full use of his left leg, which was paralysed at the time.
He credits his rapid recovery to the professional care and attention he received from the Avondale College school nurse, Karyn Attwood, St Johns paramedics in attendance, police from Avondale Police Station and all the medical staff of Ward 81 of Auckland Hospital and the Auckland Spinal Rehabilitation Unit in Otara.
He also acknowledges the close support of his family, friends, students and staff of Avondale College, especially his snooker buddies, and the wider teaching fraternity.
He looks forward to resuming his teaching career at Avondale College in the coming weeks.
