CAT's Chairman, Leo Mangos, is pleased to announce CAT has organised another important public meeting for Tauranga Citizens. The Hon Rodney Hide, Minister of Local Government is coming to Tauranga on Friday the 14th August, 2009 at 15:00. The meeting will take place at the Bureta Park Motor Inn.
Rodney Hide's mission is to get City Councils around NZ working for Ratepayers. Tauranga Citizens will hear Rodney explain how he intends to: - Make Councillors state their rate rise position before being elected, then continue to be held accountable, - Combine Councils to increase effectiveness and efficiency, - Restrict Councils to core services unless permission is given by Ratepayers to branch out, - Improve Council's financial management, - Improve consultation with Ratepayers, - Improve Council transparency, - Limit rate rises.
