NZ Transport Agency one year old
NZ Transport Agency one year old
The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) marks one year of operations tomorrow. NZTA was formally established on 1 August 2008, combining the functions and expertise of Land Transport NZ and Transit New Zealand.
The NZTA’s first anniversary is an opportunity to remind our customers and media outlets that while the re-branding of road signs, forms and publications is ongoing, both Transit NZ and Land Transport NZ (LTNZ) were disestablished with the formation of NZTA. All references and attributions in media reports relating to work carried out since 1 August 2008 should be to the NZTA.
The NZTA works in partnership with regional and local authorities, the transport industry and communities to provide an integrated approach to transport planning, funding and delivery. We provide a vital link between government policy making and the operation of the transport sector.
The NZTA is focused on delivering four key outcomes for land transport:
• integration
• safety
• sustainability
• value for money.
For more information about who we are and what we do, our Statement of Intent sets out our approach and course of action for the next three years that will contribute to the delivery of the government’s land transport objectives and wider transport vision.
