Patient updates - Waikato Hospital
A 30-year-old Hamilton man is under assessment in Waikato Hospital emergency department following an explosion at Gas Pro in Grey St, Hamilton earlier today.
The man sustained burns to his face.
The owner of Gas Pro said the accident happened as the man was processing an oxygen bottle. It appears the bottle had foreign gas material in it which exploded, the owner said.
Meanwhile Margit Christensen, 36, the Putaruru woman attacked by eight dogs on Monday, is currently in theatre having another operation.
Her husband Sven Christensen said his wife wanted to thank the public and the media for their support.
There have been many requests from the media to visit Mrs Christensen for photographs and interviews. She declines the opportunity at this time because of the risk of infection and desire for privacy. Many thanks for your understanding.
