Splinter

A new exhibition of work by Victor Berezovsky opens at the Mary Newton Gallery on Tuesday 18 August.
Splinter is the culmination of two years work, and features new developments in Berezovsky’s image-making. The works, oil on panels of hoop pine, are painted but also cut into, drilled, scored, and chiselled.
“The imagery in Splinter is made up of abstracted 3-D forms that seem to express architecture, floor plans, aerial views of cityscape, and the mechanics of factories and industry. The colour palette is industrial yet with areas of optimistic lightness. Berezovsky consistently produces interesting work but this is some of his most interesting to date” said gallery co-director Mary-Jane Duffy.
Splinter runs until 12 September 2009.
