SH1 Newmarket Viaduct
SH1 Newmarket Viaduct – changes postponed due to wet weather
The NZ Transport Agency advises motorists that changes to the southbound motorway lanes across the Newmarket Viaduct have been postponed until Sunday 23 August due to wet weather.
New lane markings will be in place on the southbound lanes across the viaduct as well as lower speed limits in both directions. The changes are scheduled to be in place from Monday 24 August, weather permitting.
These changes will signal the beginning of a key construction phase of the Newmarket Connection: Viaduct Replacement Project (Stage 1). The changes will allow all lanes to be kept open as a new four-lane southbound motorway bridge is being built alongside the southbound motorway.
The NZ Transport Agency thanks you for your co-operation during this essential work.
