Report To Police And Coroner
A report into the stormwater drain in which toddler Aisling Symes was found will be released to the Police and Coroner, the Waitakere City Council said today.
Since the Council announced it was preparing a report into the issue the Coroner has begun an inquiry into the death. The matter is therefore sub-judice and as such the Council cannot make any further statements on the matter.
The Coroner has requested that the report, which is being prepared with independent input, be furnished to him by 16 November, 2009. This report will also be given to the Police, at their request, to assist in their investigation.
Release of information contained within it is a matter for the Coroner and/or the Police.
