Late night art, Parnell
Late night art, Parnell
Thursday, 12 November
On the second Thursday of each month Parnell galleries serve up a tempting smorgasbord of New Zealand art and live music - the perfect entrée to a memorable evening at one of Parnell’s great restaurants.
Galleries are open late for you to sip wine and take your time perusing Parnell’s contemporary, traditional and cutting edge array of fine art. This sociable event centres on the cluster of galleries located in the middle of Parnell Road: Aesthete Gallery, ARTIS Gallery, essenze, International Art Centre, Jonathan Grant Galleries, Pankhurst Studio Gallery, Parnell Gallery and Sanderson Contemporary Art, with Bath Street and Warwick Henderson Galleries also taking part and all open for viewing until 7.30pm.
This month’s line up features sculptor John Edgar talking at Artis Gallery at 6pm; the launch of Susannah Bridges’ ceramic works, 'Food Lights & Objects', at essenze and fresh exhibitions at most galleries, together with art works at a number of participating Parnell shops.
For full details of artists at work, artist talks and new exhibitions, visit www.parnell.net.nz for details.
Music on the night is from Grant Chilcott and The Moonlighters. Grant Chilcott croons outside Jonathan Grant Gallery; and in the courtyard between Sanderson Contemporary Art and Aesthete galleries is a guest performance from the Moonlighters – jazz singer and violinist duo, Margaret McIver and Paul Town-Treweek.
Add Late Night Art Parnell to your social calendar now – Second Thursday of each month. December 10th is the next one.
