Wellington Westpac Rescue Helicopter transports injured hunter from quad bike accident
The Wellington based Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called on Jan 13th at approximately 5.30pm to Paraparaumu to a hunter injured in a quad bike accident.
The Helicopter, with a Wellington Free Ambulance Helicopter Paramedic on board, responded to Maungakotukutuku Road Paraparaumu to attend to a 53 year old male who was injured when the quad bike he was driving onto the back of a Ute flipped backwards end over end. The hunter suffered moderate back injuries as the bike rolled over him.
On arrival the helicopter was able to land at the scene of the accident, where the patient was being assessed and treated by Wellington Free Ambulance paramedics. The patient was transported by helicopter to the Wellington Hospital Emergency Department where he is being further assessed and treated for his injuries.
