Hawke’s Bay to attend National Food Shows 2010

Hawke’s Bay food and wine companies are once again joining forces to have a regional presence at this years Auckland and Wellington Food Shows.

The regional presence at the Food Shows is headed by Venture Hawke’s Bay with the contracted collaboration of Food Hawke’s Bay. The Food Shows are a key domestic marketing channel to promote Hawke’s Bay as a premium food destination.

Janet Takarangi, General Manager for Venture Hawke’s Bay says “The Food Shows create an excellent platform for food and wine producers to take their product directly to the domestic consumer under the destination brand. By working collaboratively over the last nine years, we have created impact and presence at the shows which demands attention.”

Registrations are open now. Interest has been positive so far with a number of companies coming back to support these events, as they continue to look for more ways to reinforce their brand and service the all important retail market. At the Auckland show alone last year visitors spent $4.4 million.

Launched in Auckland in 2000, The Food Shows showcase the best on offer in food, wine and associated products, in three lively interactive events held annually in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland. In 2009 visitor numbers reached 61,280 across the two shows that we attended.

Maureen Startup Co Director of The Village Press says “The Village Press was one of the first Company’s to attend New Zealand Food Shows under the Hawke’s Bay branding. The marketing leverage we have made from these shows has helped us to develop our brand and identified our New Zealand market as a Hawke’s Bay Company. It has also brought together the wine and food producers in the region”
