SH1 Mount Victoria and Ruahine Street closures
SH1 Mount Victoria and Ruahine Street closures
The NZ Transport Agency advises motorists the Mount Victoria Tunnel will be closed to traffic overnight on the evening of Sunday 28 March. This to enable road marking to be carried out on both the approaches to and inside the tunnel.
Wellington Operations Manager Mark Owen says the closure will be in place from 10.00pm through to 4:30am the following morning. In the event of bad weather, the closure may be postponed to Monday 29 March.
Ruahine Street will also be closed in both directions between Taurima Street and Goa Street for three consecutive nights, from Sunday 28 March to the morning of Wednesday 31 March to enable work to be carried out on the Ruahine Street pedestrian overbridge. These evening closures will also run from 10.00pm to 4.30am, with vehicle access for residents only during these times.
Mark Owen said that as this work will be undertaken at night, no significant delays are anticipated.
“We thank motorists for their patience, and we regret any inconvenience while this work is done.”
