Bookfair Bargains Just Days Away!

This weekend is Wellington’s biggest annual Bookfair with over 60,000 books, 2,000 cds and hundreds of dvds, videos, vinyl records and magazines on sale.  All start at the bargain price of $2!

Graham Booth, the Bookfair Manager, says “This year we have thousands of really up-to-date paperback fiction at extremely competitive prices.  We also have a large collection of women’s interest books, as well as a carefully sorted and detailed religious books section”.

The Bookfair is now in its 15th year, and is Downtown Community Ministry’s (DCM) biggest fundraiser for the year.  The proceeds go towards our ongoing support of disadvantaged and marginalised people living in Wellington City to achieve greater wellbeing and independence.

Jennifer Partington, DCM’s Communications and Events Coordinator says, “This is my first year being part of the Bookfair, and I am really excited about the event.  There are some fantastic books available.  The Bookfair is a great way for the community to get involved in supporting DCM and our work, while grabbing some great bargains at the same time.”

The Bookfair will be held at TSB Bank Arena, Queens Wharf, on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 August.  Doors will be open from 9-5 on Saturday, and 10-4 on Sunday.
