Fiery Mayoral Debate

“After sadly hearing about the devastating Christchurch Earthquake the members of Fiji Club of New Zealand (FCNZ), and the Young Executive Club (YEC) ventured heavy heartedly to the new Auckland Council mayoral debate that turned out to be a firecracker of an event” said Alton Shameem the Community Leader, Founder, Chairman and the Fijian President of Fiji Club of New Zealand (FCNZ) and the Young Executive Club (YEC).

“The mayoral debate was held on Saturday, September 4 at Birkenhead Primary School hall in Birkenhead CBD, North Shore City, Auckland the City of Debates.

A huge number of ratepayers eagerly turned up for the debate and with abated breath waited for the Major of North Shore City, Andrew Williams to deliver his speech” said Alton Shameem the Chairman and President of Fiji Club of New Zealand (FCNZ) and the Young Executive Club (YEC).

Mayor Andrew Williams oozing with confidence talked about the Auckland City takeover of other localities, the quantum changes he brought to the North Shore area. For example, the new Birkenhead library, solving the long standing matter of Pak & Save in Wairau Road, Glenfield, building of Albany High School and the Rosedale sewerage project.

Says, His Worship Andrew Williams Mayor of North Shore City that “he is for all the community minorities, the ethnic groups as well as the mainstream New Zealanders”.

“Auckland Council mayoral candidate Andrew Williams championed the grave concerns of all the taxpayers regarding the increasing unpopular Auckland City revenue gorging hocus-pocus bus lanes” said Alton Shameem the Chairman and President of Fiji Club of New Zealand (FCNZ) and the Young Executive Club (YEC).

John Banks the Mayor of Auckland City strongly spoke on leadership, being ambitious for the families and city, having a strong economy and a world class Auckland City.

The affable and relax Len Brown Major of Manukau City talked about having a world class community, clean, green environment, having a cosmopolitan and livable Auckland City.

“All the three mayoral candidates for the Auckland Council emphatically stated that they will work with the local boards” said Alton Shameem the Founder and President of Fiji Club of New Zealand (FCNZ) and the Young Executive Club (YEC)
