Conference with the Power to Change
Conference with the Power to Change
The Just Action Conference 2010, organised by the Salvation Army, is taking place today and tomorrow in Auckland. The topic of the conference is ‘The Power to Change’. Speakers include Rev. Jim Wallis from Washington, D.C, Dave Andrews from Brisbane, and Downtown Community Ministry’s (DCM) director, Stephanie McIntyre.
Stephanie will speak on the topic of ‘Working with the poor for radical change’.
“I am looking forward to speaking at this conference because this topic is so relevant to the work that we do at DCM. This will be a great opportunity to hear what other groups are doing in our community, to raise awareness of DCM’s work, and put our service user’s needs at the front of the discussion”, Stephanie says.
According to the Salvation Army, the Just Action conference is for all those who agree with their mission to fight against suffering in all its forms, to speak out and act against injustice, and to be a force for justice, faith and mercy in the world.
