Earthquake factsheets available from Community Law
Earthquake factsheets available from Community Law
Canterbury
Community Law Canterbury has
prepared three fact sheets based on earthquake-related
inquiries at the law centre. These fact sheets cover
employment, insurance and tenancy law issues and are
available from http://www.canlaw.org.nz
Some questions answered are:
• Can my employer require me to
take annual leave because the workplace is
closed?
•
• What does the Earthquake Commission
cover?
•
• I’m renting but the house I live in
has been damaged by the earthquake. What should I
do?
•
There is a lot of good information available
from government agencies and other organisations, and these
fact sheets are intended to complement existing sources of
earthquake-related information. They are free to download
and distribute, and they will be updated if the need
arises.
Community Law Canterbury worked together with Tenants Protection Association (Inc) Christchurch to compile the tenancy fact sheet.
Mollie Howarth, Service Manager of Christchurch Area Citizens Advice said Citizens Advice Bureaux around the region will find the factsheets very useful.
