Scout Troop a “Dib” Away From Fundraising Goal
Local Scout Troop a “Dib” Away From Fundraising Goal
“A great team effort!”
That’s how
one of the organisers of a massive fundraising drive is
describing the work put in to get 28 Scouts and six leaders
to Jamboree at Mystery Creek Hamilton this Christmas.
The Malvern Scout Group from Christchurch has been primarily using Trade Me to fund raise the over $38,000 needed to get the group to Hamilton and have only a few thousand to go until their goal is achieved. “We have currently raised more than $36,500” says Scout mum and co-organiser, Jo Downey.
“The generosity of companies donating good quality product combined with the energy and imagination of the troop and parents, have been the key. We have had more than 550,000 hits on our Trade Me auctions since May 2010. We are very proud that 11 of our auctions have hit the Trade Me "cool auction" link.
