Pike River Mine Stable says Families
The families through with their Counsel have consulted Mr Harry Bell former Chief Inspector of Mines regarding the decision taken by the Government to seal the mine.
He confirms what the families have understood from the information obtained by them, namely that the there is a stable atmospheric environment now achieved which is likely to be sustained.
The families believe the Mines Rescue Trust would share the same view. This is further evidence that the decision taken to seal the mine is flawed and must be revisited.
The families will continue with expert advice to evaluate the situation hour by hour.
