Single Wellington show for world class tenor

Wellington classical crossover music fans are in for a treat as kiwi-born tenor Will Martin takes the stage at Martin Bosley’s restaurant on Friday 4 February – combining a world class entertainer with world class food and wine. Will Martin’s only show in Wellington is part of his New Zealand tour to promote Inspirations, the follow up to his multi-platinum first album.

Born in Wellington, Will Martin moved to the United Kingdom at age 18 to pursue a career in music, and has gone from entertaining on cruise ships and rocking the Hard Rock Cafe to playing at The Royal Albert Hall. He became the youngest tenor in history to top the UK classical music charts in 2007.

Martin will perform songs from his new album Inspirations which features twelve songs by twelve of the world’s greatest popular songwriters including Elton John, Stevie Wonder and Sting. He was encouraged to play in Wellington following an informal performance last year at Martin Bosley’s restaurant, famous for its seafood, fresh seasonal produce and passionate New Zealand food ambassador – chef and owner Martin Bosley.

“Will Martin is a great New Zealand success story – a young man who followed his dream and has done the hard yards to make it in a tough industry. I’m thrilled to host Will and have this extremely talented young singer perform in Wellington,” said Martin Bosley.

“It’s going to be a really special evening, we’re offering a delicious three course meal with handpicked matching wines, and the chance to listen to a world-class entertainer – I’m really looking forward to it.”

Martin Bosley’s restaurant is located at the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club at 103 Oriental Parade. In 2007 Martin Bosley’s was named the Supreme Winner in the Cuisine Restaurant of the Year Awards, and in 2010 was awarded Runner Up Best Smart Dining Metropolitan.
