Inner city housing plan, the sooner the better
Inner city housing plan, the sooner the better
Progressive leader and Wigram MP Jim Anderton supports Bob Parker’s latest plan to build inner-city developments on public land, which would provide housing for displaced people who have lost their homes to the September 4 earthquake “It’s encouraging to see new housing is being considered by the council in the city centre. I would urge that the council get on with it, the sooner the better.
“Inner-city living is a way of life in almost all of the progressive cities across the world and can be planned to be attractive, affordable and family-friendly.
“The council should be careful at the planning stage in order to get this right, but should be encouraged by this idea as it would reinvigorate our city centre, breathing new life into Christchurchat a time when it needs it most”, says Jim Anderton.
