Chinese Consulate tells our Auckland Councilor not to attend show
The Chinese Communist Consulate has sent a letter (copy enclosed) to Auckland Supercity Councilor Dr. Cathy Casey requesting that she does not attend the forthcoming Shen Yun Performing Arts event at the ASB Theatre, Aotea Centre, 3 – 5 February, Auckland.
This is a direct attempt to undermine and interfere with Shen Yun's performance. Shen Yun Performing Arts is reviving the traditional Chinese culture which was destroyed by the Chinese Communist Party, particularly during the Cultural Revolution. Evidently the Chinese Communist Party has taken the extreme step of attempting to influence our elected officials. The Communist Party does not want the New Zealand public to see the true, traditional Chinese culture which they have systematically destroyed over several decades.
Should our elected officials kowtow to the wishes of the Chinese Communist Party?
We suggest that people attend Shen Yun's show so that they can judge the performance for themselves.
