Happy Birthday to the Saint Clair Cellar Door!
MEDIA RELEASE 2 FEBRUARY 2011
Happy Birthday to the Saint Clair Cellar Door!
The Marlborough Cellar Door of Saint Clair Family Estate is celebrating a major birthday – its 10th. The first day of trading for the popular cellar door, located on Rapaura Road in Blenheim, was 30th January 2001, and since then the Cellar Door and Café has been operated by a dedicated team seven days a week, closed only three and a half days each year.
The Cellar Door offers a selection of wine for tasting from the award-winning Saint Clair wines, with the entire range - including new vintage releases and a selection of limited release wines - being available for purchase. An extensive food menu complements the wine and the relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere, and constantly changes to reflect seasonal produce and local Marlborough delicacies.
Birthday celebrations are to be held for the public over three days, from the 10th – 12th Feb. This will give the Saint Clair customers an opportunity to join the festivities, where each patron will receive a free glass of bubbles with meals.

“There is never a dull moment at the Saint Clair Cellar Door. We pride ourselves on not only the wonderful wines that we pour, but also the service we provide,” says Bruce Crawford, who with his wife Bridget owns and operates the Saint Clair Family Estate Cellar Door.
“Having operated for 10 years is an accomplishment of which we are proud and has only been made possible through the quality of our people and a strong team effort. A particular mention must go to Chris Hammond, who has been a key member of the Cellar Door family ever since the inception in 2001, and also the help and support received from the owners and staff of Saint Clair Family Estate Wines, which we represent after all. That is a huge compliment in itself.”
Saint Clair Family Estate is proud to be a family-owned Marlborough winery. The Cellar Door is more than an avenue to showcase the award winning Saint Clair wine, it is an integral part of the Saint Clair family, providing exceptional service and an outstanding venue to relax and enjoy what Marlborough has to offer.
