Kiwis being encouraged to fly further north this winter
AirAsia X is tempting New Zealanders to fly further north for their traditional mid-winter break this year with airfares from Kuala Lumpur to a variety of Asian destinations from as little as $9.
AirAsia X, the world’s leading and largest long-haul low-cost airline begins flying out of Christchurch direct to Kuala Lumpur on 1 April.
From today (8 February), AirAsia X is offering some great deals to Asia and beyond, encouraging Kiwis to pack their bags and fly further north this winter to experience a range of new cultures, says AirAsia X Head of Commercial Darren Wright.
“For just $799 Kiwis can fly from Christchurch to Paris or for $809 from Christchurch to London – these are such amazing deals and during the Northern Hemisphere’s summer.”
He says Christchurch to New Delhi is on sale from $529 and Christchurch to Taipei from $579. “With these airfares, AirAsia X is bringing affordable travel and new destinations within the reach of all New Zealanders.”
Mr Wright says the “Have the World at Your Jandals Sale” has flights to Kuala Lumpur from $379 and then on to such destinations as Penang from $9, Phuket from $27, Hanoi from $63, Tokyo from $281 and Seoul from $240.
“This sale offers great opportunities for New Zealanders who traditionally head to Australia or the Pacific Islands for winter to still pack their jandals but go a little further afield, for not much more money, and experience some exciting new cultures.”
He says for travellers from New Zealand wanting greater comfort, AirAsia X is offering its premium seats for only NZ$890 from Christchurch to Kuala Lumpur during the sale. Premium seat guests enjoy complimentary products and services including Pick A Seat, Priority Check-in, Priority Boarding, Priority Baggage, Baggage Allowance, a delicious Combo Meal and Comfort Kit with pillow and blanket.
The two-week sale, for flights from 4 May to 31 July 2011, ends on Tuesday 21 February. “Kiwis need to hurry as there are limited seats and at these prices they will sell fast.”
