Lifestyle Farmers Field Day Celebrates 20 Years

The premier event for lifestyle farmers in the lower half of the North Island will be celebrating its 20th year.

The Lifestyle Farmers Field Day will be held at the Otaki racecourse on Saturday 21 May between 9am and 4pm. Organiser Peter Burke says already he’s had applications for sites for the event.

The field day attracts about 100 exhibitors and about 5000 people from the North Island and Peter Burke says each year the event continues to grow. “This is a very special year and shows that despite all the doom and gloom being talked about , lifestyle farming is alive and well. Last year was an excellent year for exhibitors and I am confident that we’ll get the same interest again in 2011. More people are seeking a lifestyle in the country and an event such as this enables them to look at, and compare new and competing products”.

“We get a whole range of products and services on show. For example there are a range of cattle and sheep breeds, including miniature cattle. There are tractors and ride-on mowers of all shapes and sizes, nurseries turn out in force as do those who construct farm buildings. There is also information available in the form of technical farm books and farm supply companies that provide goods and services to lifestyle farmers”, says Peter Burke.

Site prices for the Field Day start at $65 for a small half site and up to $230 for a large double site. Bookings can be made by contacting Peter Burke at peterb@levin.pl.net. There is also information on the web site www.lifestylefarmers.co.nz
