February 23, 2011
Coca-Cola Amatil wishes to acknowledge the tragedy of the Christchurch Earthquake and the immediate need for bottled water and hydration for emergency services working in the region.
From 22nd February we have been working with Christchurch City Council, Civil Defence, Police, and St John Ambulance Service to provide stocks of bottled water and Powerade from our Christchurch Woolston distribution centre.
We have sustained significant damage to one of our sites in Christchurch but were able to salvage some product which we supplied immediately to emergency services.
We have also flown bottled water via Air New Zealand to Christchurch today and have trucked bottled water supplies from Auckland.
To date our total donation is over 200,000 bottles at a value of more than half a million dollars.
We will continue to work with emergency services.
