ONE News will stay on-air with earthquake coverage until 1:30pm. Wendy Petrie will bring hourly updates throughout this afternoon.

Te Karere will return at 4pm with a commercial free half hour bulletin.

Wendy Petrie & Greg Boyed from Auckland and Simon Dallow from Christchurch will present an extended edition of ONE News between 4:30pm – 7pm.

Close-Up returns to its normal schedule as does ONE News Tonight.

Overseas interest in the quake appears to be high. Youtube has advised us that a 6” minute edited compilation of footage posted by ONE News was the second most hit video worldwide yesterday – it received 1.1 million views
