Cityfitness announces Zumba fundraiser for earthquake support
Cityfitness gym announced today that it will hold a Zumba fundraiser in Civic Square, Wellington to raise money for the Christchurch earthquake relief, specifically for the Red Cross.
‘Zumbafund in the Square’ will be held on Friday 4th March, from 12.30pm – 1.30pm. Cityfitness instructors will lead the class, sponsored by Western Mailing, Wellington City Council and Phantom Billstickers and Samdog Design.
‘Our staff are eager to support the cityfitness members, staff and other members of the Christchurch community who are in need. Given the popularity of our Zumba classes, this seemed like an ideal method to show our support and raise some money to assist,’ said Dominic Rogerson, cityfitness Chief Operating Officer. ‘We hope that the greater Wellington community will come out to support the event via participation or simply a contribution.’
Those interested in participating in the event can find more information on the cityfitness website www.cityfitness.co.nz – or on the cityfitness official facebook page.
Cityfitness is one of the only gyms open in the Christchurch area and has already extended its support to the community in the area by offering its Northwood club for power, workouts and showers to those who are in need. Their second club, on Moorhouse Ave in the CBD, is still closed and a re-opening date has not yet been established.
A $10 donation can be made on the day to members of the public wishing to participate.
