Mayors Taskforce for Jobs on quake
Mayors Taskforce for Jobs Chair – Mayor Dale Williams –Otorohanga says it is with a heavy heart he extends his and fellow Mayors support to Mayor Bob Parker in Christchurch
Mayor Bob has been a member of the Taskforce since his first election and supports the Taskforce’s work with young people.
“This is a tragic time for the city but we want Bob and the citizens of Christchurch to know that we are marshalling our resources and will do whatever it takes to help the city back on its feet” says Dale.
“In the coming days and months the Taskforce will provide what resources we can to ensure the young people in the city are able to see a future for themselves and their families. Much will be needed and we are ready to support with innovative ideas and tons of goodwill”, he said.
“In the meantime we can offer temporary relief and accommodation in our towns and cities. Contact us or any Mayor and I am sure they will find ways to help”
The Taskforce will be contacting the Council once the important infrastructure is restored, and people are wanting some normality back in their lives.
