Eastern suburbs,
you have not been forgotten!
Since last Thursday morning almost 300 tons of food, water, dry goods and essential items has been shipped into the eastern suburbs by the Rangiora Earthquake Express.
The Rangiora Earthquake Express has also coordinated the flow of many large trucks of essential items and food, from Palmerston North, directly into the distribution hub for the eastern suburbs.
Currently the Rangiora Earthquake Express is still running trailer loads of food and essential items into the areas of most need in the eastern suburbs on a daily basis.
"We have seen firsthand the devastation and suffering of the thousands of people still living in these areas, but we have also seen the amazing work that people like Senior Sargent Roy Appley of the New Brighton Police have done, and continue to do, to ensure that the basic welfare needs of the people of the eastern suburbs are being met" says Brendan Malone, organizer of the Rangiora Earthquake Express.
"Our team of dedicated volunteers and food donors from Rangiora, and further afield, have adopted the residents of the eastern suburbs, and we done everything humanly possible to supply these terribly hard hit areas with food, water and other vitally essential items for more than seven days now" says Brendan Malone.
