FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Closing date for wool levy fund applications extended to 31 March 2011
Following the Christchurch earthquake Beef + Lamb New Zealand has extended its call for wool levy fund applications until 31 March 2011.
Beef + Lamb New Zealand Chief Operating Officer, Cros Spooner says the fund is open to farmer groups, wool industry service providers and manufacturers who wish to seek support for projects that are co-funded and demonstrate benefit for farmers.
There is $870,000 available in the wool levy fund which is unspent money collected under the 2003 wool levy mandate. New levy orders, that do not include a wool levy are now in place and the Beef + Lamb New Zealand Board has taken the view that the wool funds should be used for activities consistent with the previous mandate.
The wool levy fund guidelines and application form are available from www.beeflambnz.com/wool.
