Stylish finale for Tupare market days
7 March
2011
Colour, music, dance and creativity will mark the season’s final Tupare Market Day on Taranaki’s anniversary Monday holiday.
The Market Day runs from 9am to noon at 487 Mangorei Road, New Plymouth, and will feature stalls from Taranaki Farmers Markets and other local craftspeople and growers.
Among the goods for sale will be clematis and carnivorous plants, ragdolls and teddies, and shawls and scarves by Creative Fibre members.
Rex Hendry,
of Taranaki Lavender and Gourmet Garlic, will give a
presentation on his products at 10.30am, explaining the
processes and ethics behind them.
There’ll also be
Morris dancers and accordion music.
Though this is the
final market day for the summer, free workshops and other
events will continue through the winter at Tupare and the
other two Taranaki Regional Council heritage properties,
Pukeiti and Hollard Gardens. All three properties are open
daily and entry is free.
For more information, see www.tupare.info, www.hollardgardens.info and www.pukeiti.org.nz. Social media users
can also follow the Regional Gardens on Facebook (TaranakiRegionalGardens) and Twitter (@TaranakiRG).
