Media Update
For
the Customer
In the two and a half weeks following on
from the Christchurch earthquake we have been providing
credit assistance to customers who have needed it, and to
the Search and Rescue teams along with support service staff
in Christchurch. Earlier in the week we announced our
mobile assistance offers. We do ask that customers continue
to limit their usage (or spread usage over the whole month)
while our engineers continue to add capacity to the network.
Below is a summary of what is on offer for Christchurch residents who have been affected by the earthquake;
•Prepay – Any Prepay customer who we’ve identified using their phone in Christchurch City & Banks Peninsula between 22nd February and 8th March will get 100 anytime calling minutes to NZ mobiles and landlines valid for one month.
•On
Account – On Account voice customers whose billing
address (as at 8th March) is in the greater Christchurch
region will receive 120 minutes free to use anytime to any
network to mobiles and landlines (excludes all corporate and
government customers). When your minutes have been applied
you will be notified via TXT. These minutes do not
expire.
•Fixed line - Crediting all our
Christchurch fixed line customers with one month’s free
calling for the month of March and backdated to include the
period from 22 February to the end of February. The free
calling offer includes calls to landlines and mobiles on all
networks.
•Waiving the disconnection and reconnection
fees for home phone customers whose homes have been
affected.
•Waiving the early termination charges for
any of our SKY customers with a Christchurch
address.
•Offering free call diversions from Vodafone
landline or Home Phone Wireless phones to another NZ
landline or mobile number, free for 30 days, for customers
unable to get into their homes or businesses. Customers can

•Putting
accounts on hold and waiving Vodafone landline and broadband
access fees for 30 days for customers who are unable to
return to their homes or businesses

the normal fees related to cancelling your Vodafone contract
or new connection charges if you have to relocate your

mobile or 0800 400 888

living in New Zealand or overseas can order an emergency
pack for a Christchurch resident. The Emergency Mobile
