First-Class Performance by Saint Clair Pinot Noir

23 March 2011

First-Class International Performance by Saint Clair Pinot Noir

Traditionally recognised as a top New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc producer, Saint Clair Family Estate has now demonstrated its reputation internationally as an outstanding producer of Pinot Noir. Taking out the title of Top New Zealand Wine at Canada’s Nova Scotia Port of Wines Tasting Competition was Saint Clair Family Estate’s Pioneer Block 5 Bull Block Pinot Noir 2009.

It is clear that the Bull Block vineyard is a blue-ribbon performer and produces exceptional wine - the previous vintage was awarded the New Zealand Pinot Noir Over £10 Trophy at the Decanter World Wine Awards (London) 2009.

Also worthy of mention is the Saint Clair Pioneer Block 2 Swamp Block Sauvignon Blanc 2010, which was the runner-up in both the $30-$40 range Top-Scoring Sauvignon Blanc and Top-Scoring White Wine categories at the same Canadian wine show.

This news coincides with further award success from the Sauvignon Forum Czech Republic 2011, where highly acclaimed gold medals were awarded to the Saint Clair Sauvignon Blanc 2010 vintages of the iconic Wairau Reserve Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, and Pioneer Block 18 Snap Block Sauvignon Blanc wines.

Family-owned Marlborough winery Saint Clair Family Estate is thrilled to be acclaimed internationally for Sauvignon Blanc, and with its relentless aim for consistency across the board of wine varieties, aspires to do the same with Pinot Noir. Saint Clair’s success with Pinot Noir continues to unfold, and the company remains focused on the objective of surpassing the high quality standard it sets with every successive vintage.
