The Wellington based Westpac Rescue
Helicopter was called to Puketiro Loop Track , Pauatahanui
this morning at 9:50 am.
A 54 yr old male sustained serious back injuries after falling off his mountain bike during the Porirua Grand Traverse.
The Helicopter responded with a Wellington Free Ambulance Paramedic onboard.
The Helicopter was able to land on a narrow grass verge near the accident scene.
The patient was flown to Wellington Hospital's Emergency Department where he is being treated for his injuries.
