Stanmore Bay Waka Tangata, Beach Cleanup & Dance Party
Time: Sunday, April 17 • 9:00am - 6:00pm Location: Stanmore Bay, Whangaparoa, Rodney, Auckland
Two events in one to finish off Seaweek 2011. A bit later than we'd planned, but really hoping the weather holds out for us this time, so come & make the most of the end of summer & celebrate the sea with us!
From 9am - 2pm Waka Tangata: Come along and learn about the culture, history and traditions of the sea in a Maori context. A waka tangata will be on-site along with experienced paddlers and leaders in the field offering workshops and information around traditional aspects of paddling on the ocean. All welcome to attend so don't miss out on a fantastic opportunity.
From Noon - 6pm Beach Cleanup BYO Picnic & Dance Party: Pick up some litter along the beach at Stanmore Bay & celebrate Seaweek 2011 with a free beach party!
DJs on the decks: Jolly B, Luke (Spooky) Thompson, Bing, G Rex, Sabin and Dale. Mixing up some good tunes n vibes.
