NZ’s Best on Show
14 of the best women’s 7’s players will be assembling in Rotorua on Sunday to compete for places in the Aotearoa Maori Women’s Team to compete at the Roma International sevens in Italy on 3rd & 4th June.
“This tournament will have the strongest line-up of international women’s 7’s teams since the 2009 Inaugural Women’s 7’s World Cup”, said Aotearoa Maori selector/coach Peter Joseph.
“We are fortunate in having such naturally talented seven’s players available for our training squad and the real difficulty will be who we leave out”, said Joseph.
The Aotearoa Maori Women’s Team is the number one seed for the tournament and, as defending champions, are receiving considerable attention from their opponents and international media.
“The team will be finalised following Sunday’s training camp so that we can focus on the two remaining camps available to us prior to departure”, said Joseph.
