Online responsible drinking campaign offers dream holiday in Maldives

Two lucky Kiwis could be sunning themselves in the Maldives if they play their cards right – online.

Asia Pacific Breweries Ltd (APB), parent company of DB Breweries, is in the final stages of a three-month-long online responsible drinking campaign called ‘The Cheers Challenge’.

The campaign requires players to ‘toast’ online characters who are suitable to drink alcohol and avoid those who aren’t. Players need to look out for characters that take on duo personas and take care to toast only the right one at appropriate times. The characters are introduced at different game levels (five in total) with the game getting more challenging with each level.

Auckland-based Zlata Kozhemyako successfully mastered the challenge and is the first of three Kiwi winners set to represent New Zealand at the 2011 Cheers Challenge Regional Final in June.

Zlata, who lives in Herne Bay and works as an account manager at Market United, is looking forward to travelling to Singapore to compete against regional finalists from APB’s other markets including China, Mongolia, Papua New Guinea, Thailand and Laos.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be the first Cheers Challenge winner in New Zealand and really looking forward to going to the regional final in Singapore,” Zlata says. “The game is actually a lot of fun to play and really well designed. I might have to do some more practice though before the final in June!”
