Only 5% of New Zealanders Thought Bin Laden Would Be Stopped in 2011
At the end of 2010, UMR asked Kiwis whether they thought some political, sports and current affairs predictions would come true in 2011. One of these predictions asked was if Osama Bin Laden will still be at large.
- Only 5% of New Zealanders thought that Osama Bin Laden would be either captured or killed by the end of 2011
- Three-quarters (77%) of New Zealanders thought that at the end of 2011 Osama Bin Laden would still be at large, while the rest felt unable to make a prediction on the issue.
Attached to this release are the full findings of the research and all of the predictions from UMR Research’s Wisdom of Crowds poll 2010 (including predictions for the election and the Rugby World Cup. The Wisdom of Crowds poll was asked as part of an online survey of a nationally representative sample of 1000 New Zealanders aged 18 years and over, conducted between 30th November to 14th December 2010.
