More funding for the early years a great start.
Child Poverty Action Group commends the extra Government funding for the early weeks of life. This is the time when a new mother and baby are at their most vulnerable and this extra help to be provided through the Well Child initiative is most welcome.
“It is well known that the earlier the intervention, the more effective the impact on the health and well being of the child” said Dr Nikki Turner, CPAG’s Health Spokesperson.
“This funding is particularly important for first time mothers who need wrap-around support to help them with these precious early months. We are pleased to see Government recognition of the difference this help can make to these families”.
Child Poverty Action Group looks forward to more initiatives which will provide the assistance that our families and children need to ensure the best possible start in life.
