Visitor Passport Kicks Off
With four months to go until the world's third largest sporting event kicks off in New Zealand, Northland is getting match fit for the influx of visitors to the region by producing a Visitor Passport.
An Official Northland 2011 Visitor Passport is being produced to promote and market the region to an expected 25,000 + Northland-bound visitors during and around the international tournament. The 30,000 Passports will promote a wide range of services that visitors to the region may need during their stay, including accommodation, tourism attraction, food and beverage, retail, transport and general services like Doctors and hairdressers.
Passport holders will be encouraged to embrace the themes of 'Take The Long Way Round' 'Twin Coast Discovery Highway' and 'Paint it Red 2011' by collecting stamps at selected points in the region to win a return trip to Northland.
Northland 2011, formed mid-2007 to act as the Regional Coordination Group for the tournament is producing the Passport as a comprehensive guide to Northland.
