Call Out for Helpers
Call Out for Helpers
Wednesday 11 May
With just 10 weeks until the Downtown Community Ministry (DCM) bookfair, we need book-loving volunteers to help us out on July 23 – 24.
“Each year close to 100 people help out at the TSB Bank Arena on the weekend of the fair. All those that help out have a great time and know they are supporting a fantastic cause”, says Jennifer Stewart, communications and events coordinator at DCM.
DCM needs people on the Saturday and Sunday to operate the tills, put books back on the tables and help customers find things they are after.
“Last year was the first year I helped out at the fair, and I had a fantastic time. I can’t wait for this year, and am looking forward to meeting a wide range of new people,” says Jennifer.
If crowds aren’t your thing, but you still want to help, DCM also needs people after the fair finishes on Sunday 24th, to help us pack up and restore the TSB Bank Arena to tidyness.
The Bookfair will be held on July 23 – 24 at the TSB Bank Arena, Wellington. DCM will also need volunteers to help out with our Food Day Appeal on June 11, if you can’t make the bookfair.
