At the recent Kawai
Taumata meeting held on Friday 6th May, a decision was made
not to reappoint Ngahiwi Tomoana as the Chair of Te Ohu
Kaimoana of which Ngahiwi has served for four years, three
as Deputy Chair and the past year as Chair.
Yesterday Ngahiwi Tomoana informed the Ngāti Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated Board of this decision. Ngahiwi has asked for leave and has requested that Deputy Chair Rill Meihana assume the role as Chair of the iwi Board to continue to progress the aspirations of the iwi.
