Eva-Maria the active young Wellingtonian is at it again
Eva-Maria the active young Wellingtonian is at it again. This time, it's in the realm of Social Media.
20 year old bestselling author of the inter-generational communications book 'You Shut Up!' is finding her place in the 'adult' world. After turning 20 last year, she looked at how she can carry on her mission and vision of helping improve communication between generations. She decided to focus on the new Social Media that many businesses failed to understand, yet youth knew so much about.
"It was the perfect disconnect - where Social Media knowledge was at opposite ends of the spectrum for youth and adults. The perfect solution was to get the two to work together," comments Eva-Maria
SocialeMedia was a business born from a group of youth who had too much time and knowledge about the online world and a couple of local businesses who were challenged to hand over their online reputation to the youth. SocialeMedia has grown into a boutique consulting and strategy building and execution business over the past year, and is quickly gaining exposure and a reputation for what can happen when youth energy is geared at something positive.
With the business taking off, Eva-Maria takes time to make resources as affordable as possible for existing and potential clients. This week, she and the team released their latest resource - the 7 Day Crash Course about Social Media that can be accessed through signing up on the home page.
"We've been working on it for the last few weeks after some businesses told us that we need something really basic and simple to get people's heads around what all this Social Media is. The problem is that the existing businesses that have anything to do with Social Media are gearing at large businesses that are usually already well serviced. We took a different approach and are targeting the SME market. The country's economy depends on their success, but it seems that no one out there seems to be fulfilling the need to actually sit down with businesses, and explain the basics."
