Celebrate the Arrival of Winter at the Auckland Snow Show!
Winter is officially here, so check out the best of the Air New Zealand Holidays Auckland Snow Show this weekend. This winter expo features all the best snow season holidays, fashion, mountain gear and adventure ideas for you to get stuck into in the coming months.
The SNOW SHOW is on at the Viaduct Harbour over Queen’s birthday weekend this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Find out all you need to know to plan your next trip to the snow, while checking out the best of what’s on offer both locally and internationally. Get great deals on travel holidays, ski and snowboard equipment, outerwear, rental vehicles, resorts and more.
Alongside the long-awaited return of the Auckland Snow Show, the Viaduct Basin will also host the launch of the Skullcandy NZ Big Air Series. The Auckland Big Air on Saturday June 4 promises to transform Viaduct Basin with a massive spectacle of ski, snowboard and FMX action. Check out these competitive action athletes from NZ and around the world who compete at the world’s highest level.
World number one free-skier Jossie Wells of Wanaka is among the confirmed athletes for this weekend.
A 17m high ramp made from 30 tons of scaffold and containers will hold 60 cubic metres of snow provided by Snowplanet. Alongside the snow jump will be a FMX ramp to propel world-class FMX riders like Kain Saul (Australia) and Nick Franklin (NZ) over a 50-foot gap jump.
The second big air event will be held in Methven on 27 August to mark the close of the 100% Pure New Zealand Winter Games.
