All Christchurch highways re-opened
The NZ Transport Agency reports that all state highways in Christchurch are now open, with the Anzac Bridge on SH 74 cleared for traffic earlier this evening.
NZTA's Canterbury State Highways Operations Manager Pete Connors says city streets in Christchurch have again been damaged by liquefaction.
Mr Connors urged drivers to limit travel to essential trips in order to keep roads clear for emergency services, and advised all drivers to use extra caution on the region's roads while potential damage to roads and infrastructure is assessed.
