It’s your time to shine
Are you a dancer, performer or entertainer who jumps at the chance to strut your stuff? Yes? Well, here’s a perfect opportunity for you!
Volunteers are now being sought for the annual Farmers Santa Parade and organisers are looking for volunteers aged 10 years and older to take part in the Parade.
Each year the Parade relies on 4,000 volunteers to make the day happen and around eight out of 10 come back every year to celebrate the start of the festive season.
However, organisers are always looking for new volunteers and families to come along and get involved - particularly enthusiastic performers who love getting dressed up in costume.
“We’re looking for volunteers who can help make the day the best it can be – and have an absolute ball at the same time,” says parade organiser Pam Glaser.
“We have a huge variety of people helping out each year and everyone is welcome – don’t be shy!”
Behind-the-scene volunteers are also needed but must be older than 18 years and willing to help as marshals, banner carriers, costume minders and the like.
This year, Santa will make his way through Auckland City on Sunday 27 November (rain date Sunday 4 December).
For more information on becoming a volunteer please call (09) 358 2395. Alternatively you can go to www.santaparade.co.nz, head to the volunteer page, fill out the application form online or download it and send it to the P.O. Box address provided. You will then be contacted to come in for a fitting.
As the first fitting takes place on July 18, please get in touch as soon as possible if you are interested.
