Mayor congratulates Petone By-election winner
Hutt Mayor Ray Wallace today congratulated Mike Fisher for winning the Petone Community Board By-election
The final result of the by-election was Mike Fisher 997 votes, Lorraine Williams 773, and Neil Newman 471.
“It was keenly contested and a good example of local democracy in action. All of the candidates were worthy of a place on the board but in this case there is only one winner.
“Mike will be a good addition to the community board and I look forward to working with him to further the interests of Petone residents.”
The new community board member is expected to be sworn in within the next week.
