Snow arrives in perfect time for Novotel Queenstown family ski holiday

Affordable fun is snowballing in Queenstown as the largest and most family-friendly hotel in the winter resort celebrates the arrival of snow.

As snow dumps on the mountains in New Zealand’s premier ski region, the centrally-located lakefront Novotel Queenstown Lakeside has rolled out a school holiday accommodation package that can’t be beaten.

Novotel Queenstown Lakeside is celebrating winter by offering 25% off all rooms until 31 August 2011 and is offering families something extra with the ‘School Holiday Package’. Available from 15 July to 1 August this includes a 25% discount off a Superior Room on a minimum three-night say, and a $100 dinner voucher for Elements restaurant, which offers child-friendly food at affordable prices as well as an ‘à la carte’ menu for Mum and Dad.

It’s all about the kids at Novotel Queenstown – they’re treated as VIP guests where under-16s stay for free when using existing bedding and sharing a room with parents. When families book one full price room, kids can get their own room for half price.

Children eat breakfast for free, receive a present on check-in and an exclusive Novotel passport that contains everything mini jet-setters need or want to know about Queenstown, packed with kid-friendly activities, details of their very own children’s menu and even a happy hour ‘cocktail’ menu.

Novotel Queenstown Lakeside General Manger Jim Moore said the snow dumping down on Queenstown ski areas Coronet Peak and The Remarkables, and nearby Cardrona, was absolutely perfect timing for families keen on a stress-free winter ski holiday.

“We treat children as very special guests at Novotel Queenstown, so we’re delighted to be able to offer their families something special to celebrate the arrival of the white stuff on the mountains,” he said.

“By providing fun and entertainment for younger members of the family during their stay with us it helps take the weight off parent’s feet and makes for a more enjoyable holiday for everyone.

“We can look out from the hotel and see the mountains covered in snow which has arrived with impeccable timing for the holidays.

“The whole town is buzzing, and we’re so centrally located it couldn’t be easier to sort out gear for all the family downtown and jump on a bus for a hassle-free ride up to whichever mountain you want to get to.”

Elements Restaurant offers an ‘Early Kiwi Special’ every night between 5pm and 7pm and a new eclectic New Zealand-inspired winter menu from 5pm to late. ‘Aprės Ski’ drinks specials are also on offer in Elements Café & Bar between 5pm and 7pm nightly.

The property boasts an unrivalled in-town location, just steps away from Queenstown’s bars, restaurants and shops, and has an absolute lakefront position. It features modern and stylish accommodation, with many rooms enjoying views over the crystal clear waters of Lake Wakatipu and surrounding mountains.
