Red Zone family wins Ilam Apartment in Trade Me $1 Reserve Auction
Ms Hanin Hussain, a Senior Teacher at the University of Canterbury’s Early Childhood Learning Centre has won a modern five bedroom apartment at the Ilam Apartments auctioned through Trade Me with a $1reserve.
“Our house is in the red zone in Dallington so our family is pleased to win this auction” said Hanin Hussain. “It’s a really nice, warm apartment and very central for work and my son’s school – Unlimited”, she said.
Ms Hussain, her husband David Coulson, and 14 year old son Deen Coulson move into the apartment this week.
“It was a great sense of satisfaction for us when we heard the auction winners were a red zone family who needed the Ilam Apartment” said Darel Hall, General Manager Business Development at UC Accommodation Student Village. “There are thousands of people who need extra help at the moment and this is one story of good fortune to gladden the heart”, he said.
“Over 13,000 viewed the auction which tells us that people are looking for modern, warm and safe accommodation” Darel said.
“Because of the interest in the auction we’ve had several inquiries from reconstruction workers and ex-central city service businesses. The feedback I am getting is that the certainty we can provide and the total package of engineering, maintenance, cleaning, security, and grounds maintenance is very attractive”, said Darel Hall
